SYNOPSIS
Two years after her specialization in Geriatric Medicine she became head of the Geriatric Department in the Highland Hospital – a position she kept until moving to Linkoeping University Hospital for the same position there.

She developed the first Acute Geriatric Wards in Sweden with direct access from the ED to the geriatric wards and has opened three of these wards in the country - all still thriving.

In her years as President of the Swedish Association of Geriatric Medicine she evolved consensus paper with the GP’s the internists in Sweden for a better and more comprehensive Care of Older People which founded the base of her later research.

Research interests has mainly been Patients participation in medical decision making, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and frailty.
