The EUGMS booklet

 

The EUGMS booklet describes the EUGMS, - it’s history, goals, and future perspectives, as well as the present work with pursuing the aim of the society: to develop geriatric medicine in all of the European countries, and ensure the provision of geriatric medical services to all older European citizens.
The booklet also contains the description of each of the various national geriatric socities within the framework of the EUGMS. To view the booklet, click HERE (PDF-file, 2,77MB)
The first booklet was launched in 2005. An updated version is scheduled for 2008.

Guidelines

The EUGMS has taken the initiative to create clinical guidelines for frequent diseases and conditions in old age. We are aiming at developing new guidelines and updating existing ones.
Presently we have the following guidelines:


  • Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in older people (2004)
  • Syncope in older people (2006)
  • Vaccination of Adults aged 60 years and older (2009)
  • Life Course Vaccination. Impact of Life Course Vaccination on an Ageing Population (2009)
