Prof. Jean Petermans

It is with great sadness that the EuGMS announces the passing of Professor Jean Petermans from Liege, Belgium on the 6th September 2019.

Professor Jean Petermans was one of the Financial Directors of the EuGMS. He was active on the EuGMS Boards for many years and was the initiator and chair of the EuGMS SIG on Gerontechnology. Professor Petermans strongly believed in the future of geriatric medicine and the growth of the EuGMS and leaves a great legacy in our society.

Besides his professional achievements, Prof. Jean Petermans was highly appreciated for his humanity, kindness and generosity.

The EuGMS Executive Board members will always treasure the happy memories of the fruitful and impeccable collaboration and the time spent together with Professor Petermans. May our condolences bring Professor Petermans’ family and dear ones peace during this painful time.

The EuGMS will pay tribute to Professor Jean Petermans during the Opening Ceremony of the 15th EuGMS Congress in Krakow.
