EuGMS SIG on Gerontechnology - Survey on the use of technologies in the care of the elderly following the covid pandemic
Dear Colleague,
We kindly invite you to respond to the survey of EuGMS SIG on Gerontechnology a survey on the use of technologies in the care of the elderly following the covid pandemic.
Description: How has the Covid pandemic changed practices and attitudes towards digital health in elderly care?
Many healthcare organizations have rapidly adopted digital solutions and advanced technology tools to counter the Covid pandemic. Similarly, in many countries, national health systems, which have proved particularly ‘resistant’ to the digital transition in recent years, are implementing new models of digital health (dHealth or eHealth). It is therefore important to carefully analyse the ideas and solutions being proposed today in order to implement best practices and models of care tomorrow.
Many experts agree that the use of such technologies will probably offer an opportunity to ensure continuity in the provision of the health services needed by patients living with chronic diseases, particularly frail older people, both during and after this pandemic. There is therefore an urgent need to conduct further research in order to evaluate the role of these technologies in improving access to services for people with chronic diseases and age-related functional limitations and in fostering their “ageing-in-place”.
The present questionnaire aims to understand how the Covid pandemic has changed practices and attitudes towards eHealth among EUGMS members. The data from this survey could be the starting point for future educational/training initiatives and clinical trials.
Please find hereafter the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/NWoh2yyCjyjTims99
The deadline to complete the survey is: AUGUST 15th 2022
Thank you!
