Other activities…

Meetings:

The Lithuanian Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (LAGG) organised a number of scientific conferences on the problems and challenges in gerontology and geriatrics in Lithuania. Projects “Seminars on Geriatrics I”, “Seminars on Geriatrics II”, and “Seminars on Geriatrics III” have followed as well. Furthermore, medical professionals from the Baltic States and their counterparts from some of the other EU member states had an opportunity to meet in the conference “Future models of care of elderly people”.

Journals:

Since 2000, LAGG is one of official publishers of periodical peer reviewed journal “Gerontologija”.

More activities:

The geriatric system is being optimized seeking the better availability of health care services for older people in Lithuania. The project of Ministry of Health of Lithuania “Healthy ageing” started in 2015 and is supported by EU. Moreover, the revision of the undergraduate geriatric medicine curriculum has been started in Vilnius University.
